Scroll down to the second picture from the bottom, and click to enlarge. Powder blue, NO. But otherwise doesn't Coco look terrific? I read somewhere that he's been working out in Arizona this winter. That bodes well for his future endeavors in KC. :::grins:::
Speaking of working out, I also read (gee, I read a lot) that Lugo opted not to play winter ball in the DR so he could instead focus on conditioning. Apparently he packed on some serious muscle while he was at it. Spring training promises to be interesting.

I am a bit of a horndog today. Really. :::sigh::: At least I was inspired to make a couple more icons, which is a good thing.
The crankle is about good to go. It was a little bit red/swollen by late last night, but I slept with it propped, lounged in bed for way too long this morning, and it looked fairly normal when I got up. I'm not enjoying some of the side effects of the antibiotic (sometimes those are as bad as the illness that's being treated, LOL), but this too shall pass.
I'm spending another quiet day alternating between catching up on electronic correspondence and doing piddly things around the house (dishes as well as taking my injection for my MS a week late but better than never). It's been a somewhat lost weekend but I really can't complain, seeing as how I was very productive last weekend and am feeling pretty motivated in general. At least I had a good reason for being a slug.
Onwards.

I first saw the rumor earlier this morning on the Red Sox board on AOL, of all places. Something about a radio station in Kansas City. Nothing came up on a Google search, so I shot Ian an e-mail to ask him what he knew, then went back to bed to rest my leg. Was having a grand time watching reggaeton videos and after awhile, LJ addict that I am, I had to log in again. I read the comments to my most recent entry and I knew. Checked my e-mail and my suspicions were confirmed by Ian. And of course I've checked some of the major media, with no doubt more of that to come as the news spreads.
I haven't really processed this yet but I know as soon as it really hits me, my heart will be hurting even worse than my ankle. Why the hell do all my baseball boyfriends get gone? That's two already since I became a Sox fan, with the third no doubt to follow soon. Coco love aside, wouldn't it have made sense to have a known quantity, and a very good one at that, as our fourth outfielder if they planned to give center field to Jacoby?
I hope this season brings Coco a career year that makes our front office regret this move. See, now I'm getting angry. What part of the five stages of grief is that?
Does this mean that I have to change my default icon and get rid of all my Coco icons? They (and he) are so adorable that I can hardly bear that thought...
Now I'm extra glad that I stayed home from work today. It would have been July 31 all over again. I wouldn't have gotten a damn thing done for all the angsting and checking on line. And just so it's clear...this is so much worse than July 31.
:::sigh:::

For some reason doing my exercise routine today caused my libido to wake up BIG TIME for the first time in several weeks, and now I'm sitting here thinking about my favorite baseball boyfriends and missing them so damn much. With the hot stove season going on, there's a good chance that they could end up somewhere other than Boston, but I'll still be keeping tabs on them regardless, so that's not an issue. And I have a few hundred pictures to enjoy until Spring Training starts, but I.Want.To.See.Them.Live.NOW. Dammit. :(
I guess it doesn't help that supper didn't agree with me. Doesn't do much for my mood...

The clock has struck midnight and it is now November 1, so it's time to wish a very happy BIG 2-9 to one Covelli Loyce Crisp! May you have a fabulous birthday, Coco, and may you and your lovely family be ever blessed.

My new back exercises given to me by my physical therapist are working beautifully. I can now actually stand at the sink and do dishes for an extended period of time, and I'm not having near the amount of morning agony that I had in the past. I go back to see my PT this week and hope to get still more exercises. I'll also soon be starting a fitness program via work, with exercises tailored to my specific needs, this after undergoing a fitness evaluation by our wellness director. This is an organization-wide initiative, and I think about 3/4 of the employees are taking part, so it's not just me, LOL. Anyway, I hope to be big and strong within a few months.
In baseball news, I am SO glad that we won today after yesterday's mess. Extra good news is that Tampa Bay lost, so now (if I updated the standings correctly in my head) we are only 4.0 games out! Now if we could just quit it with the injuries...
Speaking of which, was that not the sweetest thing EVER, seeing Coco rush to Jacoby's side when he slammed into the wall today? I started crying, both because I was worried about Jacoby and because Coco's concern was so obvious and really precious to see. I've gone and gotten myself cuckoo for Coco of late anyway. I guess I needed to find myself a new baseball boyfriend on the team, seeing as how my original two are either gone or as good as gone. Covelli Loyce has been bringing a rather well-rounded game to the table recently, so I don't have to slink around in shame and hide the fact that I like him (ahem), at least I hope I don't.
In other baseball boyfriend news (yes, I'm shallow), I'm still keeping tabs on Manny, who will be on TV tonight. The alleged televising of yesterday's game turned out to be a regional free for all, and I got ATL/STL, which was just fine, because it gave me a chance to watch Albert, who has been on my list for several years. He is currently tearing the cover off the ball and is tied with Chipper Jones in the batting title race at .359 at the end of today's game, with 2 HR, 5 RBI in the past two days. Scary good stuff.
That's all for now. Will be checking in and out here this evening as usual, although I'll hopefully mostly be making progress on house chores in the other room while I see what Manny is up to.
Late Edit: Per Baseball Tonight, Chipper is still ahead in the batting title race by a tiny fraction. Hopefully my large economy size NL baseball boyfriend will remedy that situation soon. :)
