Time to go back to work! Of course, I was going to do that today anyway, really didn't have a choice, but last night I realized that I was feeling...almost normal? Whatever normal is for me, anyway. Talked to my mom, who said my voice sounded a lot stronger than it had in recent days. I woke up this morning feeling okay, so here I am going through my morning routine, and we shall see what we shall see when I get that first glimpse of my desk. LOL...

While I'm at it, HAPPY BIG 3-4 TO THE LARGE FATHER! No time to dig for pictures to embed right now. Just sending good wishes to our very own chocolate teddy bear and his lovely smile. ♥

That's all for now -- time to eat breakfast and fix lunch and all that good stuff.

Evening jottings...

Hey all, what's going on?  I think I may have just missed a rainbow (although the sun retreated behind the clouds again), but couldn't get outside to check without putting mud boots on, so I decided to pass.  For probably the last 45 minutes we've had an impressive downpour that is just now letting up.  Now don't get me wrong, I love rain; however...my little house sits at the bottom of a sloped driveway, and when it rains this hard it takes no time at all before the water runs down from the street and overwhelms the drainage system that sits just outside my carport.  The result?  A couple of inches of standing water in the carport and for several feet beyond, and it takes awhile to drain after the rain stops, and it sometimes stays muddy for a couple of days.  Amazingly enough, in all the years I've lived here, the water has never come into the house, not even when we got walloped by back to back hurricane remnants in 2004.  I have that to be thankful for, but it does get inconvenient at times, especially if I really need to go somewhere when the carport is flooded.  I've developed a system of stretching out to open the cardoor and more or less leaping into the passenger seat and crawling over to the driver's seat, LOL.

Bad, bad dream... )

Another blow struck against pack rat-ism! )

New iconage! )

That's about it from here.  And yes, I'm still catching up on comments.  Almost done, actually.  Hopefully later this evening.  I hate when I get behind on that, because I don't want my friends to think I'm ignoring them (I'm not...really).

Smooches to all!

ETA: And...we have rainbow!  It blossomed from barely there to bright -- not knock-your-eyes out bright, but a lovely full arc, with the faintest of doubles.  Wheeeee!!!!

I believe I'm gonna die of the cuteness...

Dear Julio, please keep your child in check! LOL...

Just as an aside, I think it's awfully nice that Julio Alejandro is finally big enough to be a playmate for D'Angelo now that Manny Jr. has left the building.

Thanks to Reuters via Daylife for these goodies. :D

In a post a few months ago I made reference to the unusually large number of November babies on the 2008 Red Sox roster. What I find amazing is that (against rather astronomical odds) three of them were born the same year within four days of each other. This means that as I prepared to go home for Thanksgiving break during my first semester of college, E-6 (11/16), Big Papi (11/18), and our very own Georgia Peach (11/20) had just arrived on this earthly plane. Now those had to be some cute babies!

It's now 11/16 and the BIG 33! birthday marathon has officially begun. Rather than make separate posts over the next few days, I'd like to send great big hugs and happy birthday wishes to all three of these lovely men. :::SMOOCHES:::
