So glad it's a long weekend...

Yes, I've finally gotten it together to make a post.  Took me long enough, I know -- vacation was great but it did take a lot out of me, and getting back into my routine has taken longer than I expected.

Yay for vacation! )

Right now I'm waiting for tonight's game to start.  What a rollercoaster the past few days have been, what with the epic fail of the collapse against the O's, followed by the huge comeback the next day (and yes, of course, I was insanely proud of My Little Guy for getting the game-winning hit).

Speaking of all things Sox, congratulations to Jason Bay on becoming a U.S. citizen just in time for the Fourth.  Nice timing -- and I'm sure everyone has seen the pictures from the ceremony, so let me just say that he looked terrific in that suit and with that hairstyle.  Easy on the eyes, our JayBay is...

Off to stuff my face a little bit before the first pitch...

Morning Haiku...

I think I could play with this all day...but will be late for work if I continue.  So...that's all for now!   :D

11:15 a.m., ETA: I bookmarked a bunch of other good ones but they didn't take.  Oh SNAP.  So I've e-mailed a bunch to myself and will probably share them later.  I love this little time-sucking toy!

Mid-afternoon today I was hit by anxiety that wouldn't quit, likely brought on by a) waiting too long to eat lunch because I was running errands, and b) hormonal shit related to PMS.  It wasn't until just a few minutes ago that I finally got it to break.  How did this miracle occur?  Well, I was browsing various baseball blogs and, on Surviving Grady, there is a clip of the last out of Jon Lester's no-no and the pandemonium that followed.  Of course, watching it made me cry, not just because of the significance of the moment but also because I miss baseball so much right now.  Interestingly, the tears were cathartic.  Even though I didn't cry a lot or for long, after I dried my eyes I realized that the weird spaced-out feeling and racing heart were much improved.  I feel so much better.  Baseball therapy is the way to go, I'm convinced.

So many things to look at... )

Wheeeee!!!!!!

misc yay

I went and did it, you guys!  I added icon space...for a total of 105!  And then I promptly uploaded about 20 of the multitude of icons that I've made (some of which will never be seen because they were weird experiments like close-ups of eyes, or they were of Manny, or things of that nature).  I also set aside a whole lot of pictures from my "Sox miscellaneous" folder for future icon use, because I know the current ones are mostly Lugo and Coco and, well, you know...with Coco being gone and Lugo being a lot of people's least favorite player, I suppose I should give the rest of the team some air time.  And I'm enjoying fooling with patterns to make abstracts.  So look for a bunch of other icons as time goes on.  For now, I'm just really, REALLY happy to have more space to play with, and I'm also happy to be able to use some of the ones I have without deleting the tried and true ones that folks are used to.

WHEEEEE!!!!!  ::::is giddy:::   (simple pleasures for simple minds, or so I've heard)

misc yay
I'm awake now after a lengthy nap, and feeling a bit perkier than earlier this afternoon, and I have something fun to share.

Welcome to my world! )
