HAPPY BIRTHDAY to[info]lissa_ann!!!  Hope it's a really good one for ya!

In other news, although I'm not all the way back to normal (whatever normal is for me), a good night's sleep definitely helped my state of mind.  Too bad I chewed off all my fingernails prior to that sleep, but I don't mind starting over with 'em.

As for baseball matters, Dear Boys, please not to suck again tonight.  Hopefully Commander Kickass will keep all y'all in line.   :)

Howdy all...

I'm baaaaack!  Yes, I do feel quite a bit better than when I posted last night, and thank you again for letting me rant.  Today was a reasonable day at work, although the alleged 3-1/2 hour shift turned into nearly 5 hours thanks to what must have been a huge number of work-in appointments (folks do tend to get sick around the holidays...all that togetherness, ya know).  Upstairs in my work area, we were all checking the appointment schedule and wailing in distress every time we saw another one appear for...12:45...1:00...1:30, are you kidding me?  We were supposed to stay until the last patient left, but one by one we trickled out.  I was just getting my coat on when the "all clear" call came from downstairs, so I avoided feeling guilty for leaving early.  By then I was about ready to faint from hunger, seeing as how I hadn't brought my lunch.  I grabbed takeout from the health food store (very tasty and very filling) and just finished it a short while ago, and once I reply to last night's journal entry I'll be digging into the kitchen cleaning project for awhile.  This isn't my official New Year's post (maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow), but something I'd like to start with the new year is a concerted effort to do SOMETHING on the decluttering/cleaning list every day.  There's just so much that needs doing, and it starts here and now, because that fridge needs cleaned, LOL!

Next day check-in...

Hey peeps,

Seeing as how I'm a) feeling rather lazy today and b) have a lot of work to do, I'm basically cutting and pasting most of an e-mail that I sent to one of my LJ buddies earlier today...

I'm still alive and feeling a good deal better...a little tired from battling the cramps and then trying to stay awake for as much of the game as possible.  My eyes were trying to shut on me by the 3rd inning but I didn't actually lie down and turn the volume down until the end of the 7th.  I was in a haze for much of the game, but mostly what I remember is this: Jon was awesome, Jacoby was awesome, Bay's HR actually woke me up a bit (along with the Lugo sighting as JB arrived back at the dugout), and the opposing pitcher, who was very ugly, yelled "FUCK" and destroyed stuff in the dugout, LOL.  Once I got completely horizontal I was out like a light until I woke up during the postgame show, but they were recapping another game and I didn't have the energy to stay up to see if we won, so waited until this morning for that good news.  I hate that I missed whatever happened in the 9th to score the last two runs. I did check out a couple of blogs and it looks like Jacoby and Papi did something, among others -- will have to read in more detail later when I'm fully awake (I'm still a bit out of it, but not in pain anymore, so here I am at work) and when I have more time.

I'm really looking forward to Friday's game -- I can stay up for ALL of it, and I'll no doubt be feeling much better by then.  I'm pretty swamped so that's all for now.
