Well, this sucks...

lugo grouchy

Picture this: Temps in the single digits.  Wind chills in the teens below zero.  The roads are bad enough (ice and/or snow) that there have been numerous wrecks reported across the region since last night, and public schools are closed all across the mountains.  The colleges and universities are also closed, even the one across the street from my office.  It's supposed to get worse before it gets better, with more snow and high winds expected today, and temps not supposed to break the freezing mark until tomorrow, so this mess won't melt.

And the asshole Grand Poohbahs at work decided to open...and at the regular time, yet.  Never mind the road conditions -- the more patients we see the more revenue we'll generate, because of course at this NON-PROFIT (huge eyeroll) it's all about the bottom line.  Never mind that probably a goodly number of our patients will cancel or not show up because any SANE person wouldn't be driving in these road conditions.

I am SO not looking forward to my drive to work.

Next day check-in...

misc yay
Hey peeps,

Seeing as how I'm a) feeling rather lazy today and b) have a lot of work to do, I'm basically cutting and pasting most of an e-mail that I sent to one of my LJ buddies earlier today...

I'm still alive and feeling a good deal better...a little tired from battling the cramps and then trying to stay awake for as much of the game as possible.  My eyes were trying to shut on me by the 3rd inning but I didn't actually lie down and turn the volume down until the end of the 7th.  I was in a haze for much of the game, but mostly what I remember is this: Jon was awesome, Jacoby was awesome, Bay's HR actually woke me up a bit (along with the Lugo sighting as JB arrived back at the dugout), and the opposing pitcher, who was very ugly, yelled "FUCK" and destroyed stuff in the dugout, LOL.  Once I got completely horizontal I was out like a light until I woke up during the postgame show, but they were recapping another game and I didn't have the energy to stay up to see if we won, so waited until this morning for that good news.  I hate that I missed whatever happened in the 9th to score the last two runs. I did check out a couple of blogs and it looks like Jacoby and Papi did something, among others -- will have to read in more detail later when I'm fully awake (I'm still a bit out of it, but not in pain anymore, so here I am at work) and when I have more time.

I'm really looking forward to Friday's game -- I can stay up for ALL of it, and I'll no doubt be feeling much better by then.  I'm pretty swamped so that's all for now.
