I just dreamed that droves of ballplayers showed up for Spring Training with, uh...unique hairstyles, shall we say? And one Julio Lugo, well, his hair looked normal for the first two inches up from his hairline, then it puffed out abruptly into a small Afro, and when it reached the back of his head it cascaded in microdreads halfway down his back, just like The One Who Shall Not Be Named.
I'm cracking up just thinking about it.

horsecrazyliza, I am now addicted to Nutella...I'm sitting here eating it on toast for breakfast.
ETA x 2: Too bad the 8-12 isn't supposed to start in earnest until this evening. I could have used a three-day weekend...

The only other thing I've got going on atm is that I'm currently reading something amazing -- my paperjournal from the summer of 1988. I moved from New York to North Carolina, then spent two months driving back and forth between "down here" and "up there" living a wonderfully chaotic mix of partying, visiting, music, and general good times, and I chronicled the entire trip. So far it's been more than a little bit interesting. Selected excerpts forthcoming, no doubt.
Off to the back room to work on the mess...and Happy Halloween to all of you.

Ugh -- I hate that the baseball gods conspired to give us a day game tomorrow (er, today...it's past midnight now). I work until 6:00 if I take a short (1/2 hour) lunch. I had thought about asking my new supervisor if I could leave early (with some excuse such as a doctor's appointment) and make up the time later this week, but unfortunately, she was out all last week and I don't want to ask her on the same day. So I guess I'll just bite the bullet, work as scheduled, and catch the tail end of the game when I get home.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about future journal content. Sometime soon I'll be digging through old handwritten journals and photo albums so I can share pieces of my checkered past.
I wasn't nearly as productive today as I had planned. So what else is new? The highlight of my day was pretty cool, though. I called one of my aunts in New York, who I hadn't talked to in months, and we spent FOUR HOURS catching up. My ear hurt so bad by the end of the conversation, but it was worth it. Her branch of the family is going through some craziness right now. I had heard bits and pieces of it from other family members but it was enlightening to finally hear what's really going on. I just hope all their angsty things resolve themselves in time.
I have to get up at 6:45 so had best make my way to bed now...GO SOX!
