Since my last post, the weather forecast abruptly blew up into a call for 4 to 6 inches starting early tomorrow.  That's a lot for these Southern roads (and drivers) to handle, so for safety's sake I'm taking tomorrow off from work and heading to my mom's tonight after doing everything that I had intended to do tomorrow afternoon.  We don't leave for the airport until midday Saturday, and I really hope the roads are clear going down the mountain.  Theres supposed to be 1-2 inches where the airport is...of course, in South Carolina that's still enough to cause chaos!

Anyway...I'll have computer time tomorrow while I'm killing time at Mom's, so will be around for some last-minute LJ fun.  After that, I'll more or less be on hiatus until I get back from Oregon.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to check my e-mail at some point and drop by for a quick post to let folks know how much fun I'm having... ETA: Now they're saying up to 14 inches in some places, with the heaviest "downpour" falling between late morning and early afternoon tomorrow.  Okay Mom...you win.   ;D

This week has honestly been a rollercoaster in terms of my health.  It should be noted that otherwise things are fine, although work was interminable and wore me out, and I didn't even make it through Game 1 of the ALCS before having to go to sleep, and sleep well I did.  I have a full weekend of chores and decluttering on tap.  Thankfully it will only keep me out of the house for a little while, because our weather is no better than that which is threatening Game 2 of the ALCS, and we're supposed to have our first little spit of snow tonight.  Too early for my taste.

It goes without saying that I'm discouraged at this point.  It seems like every time I start making progress towards pulling myself out of the pile of shit that my life has become over the past bunch of years, something comes along and knocks me back down.  It's hard not to wonder if things will ever get any better.

Our local FOX affiliate is carrying the Cubs at Milwaukee this afternoon. Not that I have anything against either of those teams, mind you, but I was psyched to watch a game in regular definition with Remy as part of the broadcast team.

doG, I hate FOX and their total stupidity when it comes to divvying up their regional broadcast.  >:(

Hey all, I totally apologize for lack of replies to e-mails and general lack of keeping up with things here.  I genuinely appreciate the birthday wishes from a couple of days ago.  It has been a hectic and sometimes bizarre week, and I hope to find time to catch up on correspondence this weekend, then maybe find time to do something nice for myself...maybe NEXT weekend? I'm not sure. There's too much going on and I can't even make a dent in my to-do list, at least as long as baseball is going on, but never fear, I won't forsake our guys for any reason. And I'm SO glad we clinched a playoff berth, and on my birthday, no less.  Now THERE'S a great present!  Anyway, here's a couple of this week's highlights so far:

Now a question from the technodummy: I'm sort of interested in the honesty meme (although I'm also rather scared of what people might say, seeing as how I have not very much self-esteem), but have no idea to copy and paste it. This will be a short entry.  I'm tired as hell, having gotten up an hour early yesterday for a breakfast event at work. Then, of course, I stayed up considerably later than I had planned due to that 14-inning heartbreaking mess.  I was hanging out at CF as usual and had the NESN game on mlb.tv as well as the ESPN game on my TV (for moments that required better def).  Somewhere around the 12th inning I started to fade and watched the remainder of the game from the comfort of my bed.

WHY THE FUCK did Tito put Timlin in?  :::head in hands:::   And the bottom of the 14th.  Oh God... :::wails and rends garments:::  I felt so, SO badly for our guys.  They almost pulled it out, but almost.just.isn't...

Anyway. I really NEED this off day. Arriving at work early means I can work a short day today, and that means I can get things done (dishes, e-mails) and maybe even get 8 hours of sleep, which I desperately need.  There's family drama going on too, which I'll address in a later entry, but suffice it to say I need to write a difficult e-mail to my mother, who recently did something incomprehensible that really hurt.

I need to get back to work here.  Everyone enjoy the off day in your own fashion. And big birthday wishes to dear Jacoby.
